the whole live is a journey – enjoy travelling it

Rock am Ring 2009 Line-Upcan’t believe I forgot to mention one of the greatest parties this year: Rock am Ring!
this was my third time at Rock am Ring with a bomastic line-up. most of the bands I was listening to during the last years were present: the prodigy, the kooks, jan delay, mando diao, razorlight, limp bizkit, phoenix….

unforturnately my harddrive with the RAR pictures crashed. so if anybody of the guys I was there with could please send me the cool pics and vids, that would be great =)

the cool thing at a festival is that you have the possibility to see some bands you may would not have considered to go to a concert of them. this way i happened to see madness. I am really glad that Dennis made me go to their gig. these old men sure can rock! I really liked how they interacted with the audience and of course their cool suites. if you don’t know them have a look at this:

But the concert that really killed me was The Prodigy. From the first till the last tone of their gig they made me forget the world around me. We arrived just in time, opened our beers and they started playing… 3 seconds later we did not have any more beer. we were bouncing and dancing like crazy. we were lucky to have special accreditations to get behind the first barrier. there you really could feel the music. the bass was pumping through our bodies and we were just like in an hyperactive trance like situation. pure energy!!! for me this was the best concert on RAR 2009. This is how it looked like:

Other concerts I very much liked: Jan Delay (what a cool slow motion sound idea!), 2raumwohnung (did not expect that much power and party there. go and see them live if you have the possibility), phoenix (best impression on stage, very natural and not that used as some other “bigger” bands. cool guys…). dissapointing was razorlight… i don’t know what the lead singer took, but it was not really helping the performance…another problem could have been that the stage (center stage) was too big for them.  some bands are just not born for this big of a crowd. guess it would have been better to let them play on alterna stage.

ah yes.. and we worked there… did a survey on how Warsteiner’s (and others) sponsoring activities are perceived by the audience. unfortunately I am not allowed to publish the results.

almost forgot to mention the best give away ever: the cool sunglasses from pall mall!

thx to everybody of the Rock am Ring 2009 team for this great weekend!!!
